I remember how stressful for me when I was in the process of choosing this domain.Choosing a domain name is same as choosing a company name when you establish a company, It resembles your brand of presence. It requires a lot of thoughts, considerations and suggestions.

Domain Name is the web identity for people who wants to find your business on the Internet. Make sure it is easy to find you on the Internet.

You can follow the below tips, which help you to pick a perfect domain name for your business.

Make it easy to spell and to type

When it comes to remembering any domain name, it should be picked such a way that it is easy to tell someone, easy to remember and easy to type it. people should be able to type without any spelling mistake in order to land on your site. One trick for it is using simple words. I recommend to short and simple so that visitors have a clear shot to land on your blog/site.

Use keywords

Keywords play an important role in a domain. Try using the keywords which perfectly fits your business. For example: If your blog is about health and fitness, you can try using these keywords like healthtips.com or fitnessgoal.com etc.

It helps to improve your rank on search engines (which results in a massive increase in traffic) and makes more sense to your customers.

It’s hard to find a good domain with your target keywords. You will need to be creative and combine your keywords with other words to make your domain perfect suite for your business.

Avoid Hyphens and numbers:

Using numbers and hyphens are often miss understood- People who hear your web site don’t know if it’s a number (2) or it’s written in English letters (two).

Assume you are telling your friend that you own a site: waystostayfit.com, it’s hard for him to decide if it’s ways2stay.com or waystwostay.com, ends up going to the wrong site here you will be losing your valuable visitor.

Remember losing visitors for your site is equal to losing money. Make sure you avoid using hyphens ( – ) and numbers in choosing the domain name.

Domain name extension

Extensions are suffixes, such as .com or .net, at the end of web addresses. Make sure you pick a right one for your blog. The most common extension which is recommended by experts is  .com extension. Thought, I used .org extension, it is upto you what domain extension you pick.

Avoid using double letters

Using double letters increases chances of losing traffic because of the typos the visitors make. For Example: dressstore.com will be more prone to typos and results in loss of traffic. I prefer costumestore.com for the given example because it is easy to tell someone and easy to hear and type.
